CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As some North Carolina public schools go primarily remote this fall, private schools see a surge in calls.

Spectrum News 1 spoke to numerous private schools in the Charlotte area offering all or mostly in-person class this fall. They say they've heard from a number of parents recently.

The Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools system is offering a remote option, but is also offering all in-person classes this fall.

“In-person learning has proven over and over again to be the best model of instruction. The social, emotional, and spiritual growth of our students is even as important, or more important, than the academics,” says Diocese of Charlotte assistant superintendent Crystal Koury.

The diocese says it's still accepting applicants.
