CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A group in Charlotte is pushing through the pandemic to make sure everyone is taken care of.

Every Tuesday, Alesha Brown loads up her car with meals and hits the road to find seniors in need.

It’s all part of her nonprofit, For The Struggle, Inc.

The organizations aims to help seniors with everything from legal help, to calling contractors to fix up homes, or even simply delivering meals.

"With COVID-19 and the restrictions associated with that, we want to make sure they have access to a healthy meal,” Brown says. “We can’t do it every day because we don’t have the funding yet, but when we do we certainly will expand our program."

Brown says, through the program, they have also been able to continue to support black-owned businesses by purchasing food from them to deliver to help during the pandemic as well.
