FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – President Donald Trump was greeted by about 2,000 supporters Monday at an outdoor rally.

  • This rally was originally set for last week but was called off due to weather concerns

  • A couple of thousand supporters attended the rally

  • It was one of five campaign stops the President was scheduled to make on Monday

 

This event happened at the Fayetteville Regional Airport on the last day before the general election.

The president spoke for about an hour. He discussed economic policies and promised if he was re-elected that next year would witness a huge economic boom in the country.

"Next year, will be the greatest economic year in the history of our country. Under my leadership, the economy of our country is growing at the fastest rate ever recorded...33.1 percent. Just announced last week," he said.

He also took numerous shots against his opponents in the election, former Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Kamala Harris.

Biden released the following statement in response to Trump's visit, "North Carolinians know all too well the consequences of President Trump’s failed presidency: This month, we’ve seen more COVID-19 cases in a single day than ever before — three different times. More than 4,300 North Carolinians have died of COVID-19, more than one million  have lost their livelihood, and due to President Trump’s repeated lies and mismanagement, North Carolinians are left without the plan or resources they need to stop the spread of the virus and build back better." 

Though the weather was chilly and the wind was brisk, there was frequent cheering and loud yells of agreement from the president’s supporter.

He encouraged all those who have yet to vote to get to the polls on Tuesday.

This stop in North Carolina was one of five rallies the president planned to attend all over the country on Monday.
