NORTH CAROLINA -- Desmond Jackson was preparing for the 2020 Paralympics when everything came to a halt as the COVID-19 pandemic took the world by storm.

The pandemic would eventually lead to the Paralympics being postponed to 2021, meaning that there was still plenty of training on the horizon and numerous hurdles left to overcome.
