The coastal chapter of F3 turns four years old this week.

F3 stands for “Fitness, Faith, and Fellowship.”

It is an all men’s workout group that was founded in Charlotte in 2011.

Over the past eight years it has spread to 26 states and hosts more than 1,400 workout sessions a week.

Members of the coastal chapters of F3 meet six days a week before dawn to exercise together, ending the workout with prayer.

“Every man leaves with a sense that they’re part of a community. That they’re part of something bigger than themselves,” said member Loy Ehler. “And that they have other people that they can lean on.”

The group is free to join and is open to boys and men of all ages and physical abilities.

F3 also participates in local service projects and philanthropy through the F3 Foundation.
