Sometimes it takes firsthand experience to know what kind of help to offer. My Sister's Keeper was founded after Demetria White-Shelton's sister went through breast cancer treatments, and together they saw what women need most.

The service-based nonprofit provides women who are battling cancer with a supportive environment. 

"So now that we're in the throws of the pandemic and you know, and some of the civil unrest that we're all seeing around the, you know, the, the world and the country and it's impacting all of us, we are focusing more on some of the emotional and the mental things that are happening with women," she said.
