SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point will resume normal hours this week after a staffing shortage forced the amusement park to close two days per week.

Cedar Point will be open every day now through Labor Day.

To quell the labor shortage, Cedar Point offered a starting salary of $20. The amusement park used billboards and other advertisements to recruit new employees. Staffing shortages also impacted Kings Island in Mason, which reduced its operating hours during the month of June.

Cedar Point also will resume operating at full capacity starting July 1. The park has capped capacity in the last year due to coronavirus concerns.

Although reservations will no longer be required for the amusement park itself, access to Cedar Shores will require a reservation.

The park is in the midst of celebrating its 150th anniversary, which was delayed a year due to the pandemic.
