BRUNSWICK, Ohio — Two students from Brunswick High School were named the Week 10 Scholar Athletes of the Week for the northeast Ohio region.

Hannah Beal is a four-year volleyball player and current captain at Brunswick who has been described as “an absolute model student-athlete. Hannah is dedicated year-round to the program and always gives 110%.” She also has been described as always having a positive attitude on the court.  When not playing, Beal volunteers and works with the program’s youth. Beal maintains a 4.45 grade-point average and is a member of Link, a National Honor Society officer and works at Pulp.

Derek Corniello is a football player for the Blue Devils where he’s been described as “an outstanding leader and teammate.” When not playing or practicing, himself, Corniello maintains a 4.41 GPA while volunteering to help with the Spring Youth Flag Football program, including coaching the first grade team this past spring. He has received positive reviews in his role from both coaches and parents, alike. His coaches said he will be missed after he graduates.

Congratulations to both student athletes on their achievements.
