AUSTIN, Texas – Austin’s Grammy-nominated psychedelic soul duo the Black Pumas on Tuesday via Facebook announced they have been added to the list of performers at Wednesday's inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

The scaled-down event will also feature performances from Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, and Jennifer Lopez.

Black Pumas is made up of singer-songwriter Eric Burton and guitarist-producer Adrian Quesada.

The two received a Grammy Award nomination in 2020 for Best New Artist.

The band’s eponymous debut was released in June 2019, the group performed at South by Southwest that same year, and the duo won the Best New Band trophy at the 2019 Austin Music Awards.

The debut album won widespread acclaim, with Rolling Stone citing "the tireless, charismatic energy of singer Eric Burton.”

The two made their network television debut on CBS This Morning, performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and taped a performance for Austin City Limits.

The band later appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonThe Ellen DeGeneres ShowLate Night with Seth Meyers, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The group has toured the United States and Europe, selling out venues along the way, and Austin Mayor Steve Adler proclaimed May 7, 2020, Black Pumas Day.
