Hawaii may be the youngest of America’s 50 states, but with a slate of fireworks shows, parades, concerts and more, there’s no doubt the Aloha State knows how to celebrate Independence Day. Here’s a roundup of some fun-filled events this Fourth of July weekend.
Ala Moana Center 4th of July Concert Series

Celebrate Independence Day with five days of incredible live entertainment. Enjoy a variety of performances from award-winning musicians, Keiki hula, and more. Located on both the Ewa Wing Stage and Center Stage from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. beginning June 30-July 4.
July 4th Festival & Fireworks & Vintage Car Show
Haleiwa Beach Park
The North Shore Chamber of Commerce presents this Independence Day celebration. From 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on July 4, the day will be packed with fun for the family. Featuring classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles, food vendors, bounce houses, face painting, food eating contest, robotics competition, and live entertainment from Liquid Amber, the Marine Corps Concert Band, and the Marine Corps Rock and Roll Band. Festivities conclude with a fireworks show at 8 p.m.
Fourth of July Freedom Fest at Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor Base
Starting at 3 p.m. on July 4, families can visit a petting zoo, partake in Keiki games, and munch on tasty food from local food trucks including Kona Ice and Kehau’s Kitchen. Automobile enthusiasts can also check out the car show before the concerts and fireworks begin.
Hukilau Marketplace 4th of July
Hukilau Marketplace at the Polynesian Cultural Center
An annual 4th of July free event at the Hukilau Marketplace 4-9 p.m. The Polynesian Cultural Center will have live entertainment from local artists Kekoa Kane, B.E.T, Peni Dean, and Johnny Suite. Festivities also include free inflatables, free balloon twisting, face painting, carnival games, and more! Don’t miss out on amazing local grinds from community food vendors and a Firework Show by GRUCCI at 9 p.m.
July 4th Kailua Fireworks Show
Kailua Beach
A fireworks spectacular lights up the skies above the seaside community, at 8 p.m. on July 4. Reserved school parking isn’t available this year, but there will be shuttles between the Longs Drugs parking lot bus stop and The Beach Center from 4:30-10:30 p.m.
Lahaina Fireworks
Lahaina Town
All are welcome to stroll the historic Lahaina Town and enjoy holiday specials in the oceanfront restaurants and town shops. Enjoy live music in Campbell Park and the Maui Classic Cruisers car show along the banyan tree. The fireworks show begins July 4 at 8 p.m. from a barge offshore of Front Street. The show can be viewed from charter boats in Lahaina Harbor and throughout the town.
4th of July ‘A Salute to Our Veterans’ Hilo Bay 5k
Liliuokalani Park & Gardens
Banyan Dr., Hilo
This event benefits the Veterans of Foreign Wars 3830 and Auxiliary in Pahoa and starts at Liliuokalani Gardens, at 7 a.m. July 4. Register for a 5K run or walk.
58th Annual July 4th Rodeo and Horse Races

This July 4th favorite returns with a bang 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 4. Horse races, ranch mugging, team roping, and po‘o wai u are all still part of the excitement along with crafts, food vendors, and Keiki activities. Tickets: $10 presale/$15 at the gate.
Turtle Independence Day Celebration
Mauna Lani Bay
This major 4th of July attraction is located on the Kohala Coast from 10:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. The traditional festivities feature the release of young Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. The event also includes a parade hosted by the little Volcano Village and hoolaulea along Old Volcano Road.

Free Independence Day fun for the public begins at noon July 4 and includes a shark water slide, bouncy castle, face painting, food, plus a Budweiser/Bud Light Beer Garden and DJ Pa3CO taking over the evening hours, 5-9 p.m. Fireworks show begins 8 p.m.

There won’t be any fireworks at this year’s July 4th event, but there will be lots of fun for the entire family, 2-6 p.m. July 4. Enjoy face painting (2-5 p.m.), live performances, lawn games, free popcorn, and cotton candy (starting at 2 p.m. while supplies last), plus giveaways while supplies last.
Kailua-Kona Independence Day Parade & Fireworks Extravaganza

The July 4th celebration returns to this seaside town at 6 p.m. July 4 as the parade begins at Kekuaokalani Gymnasium and travels along Kuakini Hwy., to Alii Dr. and through Kailua Village to Walua Rd. The fireworks display begins at 8 p.m. at Kailua Bay.
A Salute to Our Hometown Heroes
Kailua-Kona
The Kailua-Kona 4th of July celebration parade begins at 6 p.m. The parade will be followed by a fireworks show at 8 p.m.
Hilo Bay Blast Fireworks and Celebrations
Hilo Bay
The Hilo Bay Blast firework show is scheduled at 8 p.m. Celebrations also include family lawn games, cooking competitions, and music.
Concert in the Sky
Kekaha
The Kekaha celebration features cultural performances, demonstrations, exhibits, arts and crafts booths, family games, live music, and delicious food. Festivities are from 10 a.m.- 10 p.m. including the fireworks show at 9 p.m.
Kauai Hospice’s Annual Concert in the Sky
Vidinha Stadium, Lihue
This family-friendly event features live music from headliner Maoli, games, activities for kids, shopping, and a fireworks show. Activities begin from 2-9:30 p.m. with a 3D fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. The show is choreographed to a 20-minute soundtrack. All proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.
