Hudson Valley Honor Flight opened its new headquarters this weekend.

Veterans, community members, and elected officials came together on Saturday for a celebration at the headquarters in Walden.

Honor Flight salutes veterans by taking them to see memorials in their honor in Washington, D.C. The organization hopes to expand the service.

"We're starting our Vietnam veterans list, and we encourage all Vietnam veterans to sign up," Hudson Valley Honor Flight chairman Frank Kimler said. "We've got 350 on the waiting list, we need to get it even higher."

The organization's new building also has a connection to veterans. It was owned by a veteran who served during World War II.
