LOS ANGELES — Parents Issac and Ann Elnekave grew tired of arguing with their children about screen time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Screen time nearly doubled from about four hours to eight hours per day for tweens during the pandemic, according to a recent study by JAMA Pediatrics.

So the Elnekaves created the 1Question app, which allows parents to designate the amount of screen time children can unlock their phone by correctly answering educational questions.
