INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Youth pastor Ron Tatum's church, the Inglewood Southside Christian Church, will soon be the next-door neighbor to the home of the Los Angeles Clippers.

“I was like, whoa this close,” Tatum said. “It’s going to be right in our backyard literally.”

  • In September, the Clippers broke ground on their new arena, Intuit Dome

  • The Dome is set to open in 2024

  • The arena is being built right next to Inglewood Southside Christian Church

  • The church has already begun working with the Clippers, including community roundtables, job fairs, and food drives

The team's future home, Intuit Arena, is currently under construction and will cost just over $1 billion to build. The Clippers broke ground in September.

Tatum has a bird’s eye view of the construction. He says his church has already began working with the team, including community roundtables, job fairs and food drives.

“It’s been a great vibe,” Tatum said. “The conversations we had already have been very open. They’ve been upfront and honest, and they really have partnered with us.”

When the new arena finally opens three years from now, Tatum hopes to bring some fans to church.

“If you want to come in and pray for your team, come on in, we’d love to have you here,” Tatum said.

Who knows? Maybe Kawhi Leonard or Paul George will come through the doors.

“I would love to have them in here,” Tatum said. "Oh my gosh. That would be awesome to have them come to service here.”
