LOS ANGELES – The wait is over, Los Angeles’s first Alamo Drafthouse is opening downtown on Friday.

Movie goers can enjoy cocktails, craft beer, and food while they enjoy the latest films to hit the silver screen. The theater also features special menus paired with screenings.

The Texas-based movie chain is expanding its reach to Southern California. The only other California location is in San Francisco.

The L.A. theater features 12 screens, a bar with 48 beer taps, and a restaurant. The soft opening is kicking off on Friday, just in time for the new Lion King movie opening.

Attendees are asked to be patient as the new staff is still undergoing training. The theater will host food and non-alcoholic drink discounts for the opening weekend.

Additionally, the theater is known for showing unique content ahead of film instead of the traditional commercials and ads of most theaters.

Before heading to the theater, Angelenos should be warned of the Drafthouse’s zero-tolerance talking and cell phone use policy.
