CULVER CITY, Calif. – Love is in the air and in the homemade heart shaped ravioli at Pasta Sisters. It is expected that $27.4 billion will be spent on Valentine’s Day, part of this including taking your loved one out to eat.

“It’s a symbol of love, but there’s a lot more behind this because there is a love about all the food,” said Paola Da Re, owner.

Da Re puts a lot of love into the fresh pasta that’s made daily with ingredients straight from Italy. You can really see her heart and soul as she makes the dishes inspired by family recipes.

MORE RUNNING ON EMPTY:

“It’s made with love. It’s made with passion,” said Da Re.

Growing up in Italy, Da Re was always in the kitchen with her mom. This is where she learned her skills and techniques.

“We were making gnocchi together, cooking, talking, and laughing. This is my memory,” said Da Re.

Now, she is making new memories with her three children. They all moved to the U.S. for new experiences and a better life. Da Re never thought they would all open a successful restaurant serving her creations.

“I always cook for friends and for family and I always enjoy to do it. It’s a passion. That happened that I start to grow because my children they gave me the right push to do this,” said Da Re.

She owes it all to her children, who she loves so much. She says she is happy they are all working together sharing in this experience.

“It’s my dream come true. I feel so good with all of them and for me the most important thing is family,” said Da Re.

And Da Re wants everyone who comes in to feel like family, especially as they eat the Valentine’s Day special, a symbol of romantic and familial connection.

“I hope the people feel the love when they come here,” said Da Re. 17 percent of diners will choose an Italian restaurant for their Valentine’s Day meal, according to WalletHub.
