LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The annual summer festival Forecastle is the lastest event scratched because of the coronavirus pandemic.  Organizers posted on their Facebook page Thursday that the festival would be canceled for 2020.

For 17 years the festival has brought some of the biggest names in music as well as a healthy roster of up-and-coming talent to Louisville's Waterfront. Those scheduled to appear this year were 2020 Grammy award winners and Kentucky natives, Cage the Elephant, Jack Johnson, and pop rockers The 1975. Those three wil be joined by Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Jack Harlow, Grace Potter, Third Eye Blind and Umphrey's McGee and many more.

Promoters say Forecastle will return in 2021.  For those that have already purchased tickets, your money is being refunded. Your refunds will be automatic and paid back using the method you used to make the purchase in the first place.  Those who bought tickets should be on the lookout for an email detailing the timing and process of the refunds.

Forecastle started as a small community event in 2002 by Louisvillian JK McKnight, it has grown into one of the country's top music festivals. It was nominated as Pollstar's Music Festival of the Year in 2019.
