FRANKFORT, Ky- Attorney General Daniel Cameron has been named as a Special Prosecutor in the investigation into the death of Louisville EMT Breonna Taylor.

The Republican was appointed by Gov. Andy Beshear Wednesday after calls for investigations continue to grow in Kentucky and nationwide.

Cameron’s office remained tight-lipped on exactly what the process for the office will be as the matter is ongoing but say he has been appointed on the case.

"At the conclusion of the investigation, the office will review the evidence and take appropriate action,” Communication Director Elizabeth Kuhn said in a statement.

Taylor was shot and killed in her home by Louisville Metro Police on March 13 when they were serving a search warrant for a drug investigation.

Taylor’s mother has filed a lawsuit against LMPD for wrongful death among other things.
