LOUISVILLE, Ky.— The ninth night of protest in Louisville wasn't like a protest at all, but more like a city celebration for the life of Breonna Taylor.  From early in the afternoon, people gathered at what has become the hub for the night, Jefferson Square.  The numbers grew as the night went on.  There were artists in the park painting portraits of Taylor, the former EMT who was killed during the serving of a no-knock warrant.  Friday would have been her 27 birthday and it seems like everyone wanted to celebrate it for her.

Louisville recording artist Jack Harlow came down to the park and met with fans and showed his support for the cause. When the sun went down a portrait of Taylor was projected onto the park-facing facade of Metro Hall.

Thousands of people were on hand and walked up to the Gene Snyder Federal Building where they broke out in song. The throng sang happy birthday to Taylor. They also had impromptu dance parties in the street, quite a contrast to what we have seen earlier in the week.
