OUISVILLE, Ky. — After protests erupted Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, Mayor Greg Fischer and Interim Police Chief Robert Schroeder provided an update on what took place. Schroeder said the final tally of arrests came to 127 while 16 incidents of looting took place; however, Schroeder said it's unclear if the looting was related to the protests.

Schroeder also released the identities of the two officers shot last night as Maj. Aubrey Gregory and officer Robinson Desroches. Schroeder said both are doing well and will survive their injuries.
Gregory, commander of LMPD's Special Operations Division, sustained a gunshot wound to the hip, but was treated and released from University of Louisville hospital last night. Desroches was shot in the stomach and underwent surgery. Schroeder said he is in stable condition and expected to recover.
The suspect accused of shooting the two officers has been identified as 26-year-old Larynzo Johnson. He is currently in custody and facing charges for assault on a police officer and wanton endangerment.
Schroeder announced that Johnson used a handgun, but declined to provide more information on Johnson since the shooting is still under investigation.
In addition, Schroeder announced that Sgt. Jon Mattingly and detective Myles Cosgrove, two of the officers involved in the death of Breonna Taylor, are still on administrative leave.
