KENTUCKY — After severe flooding rocked Eastern Kentucky, a wave of help is on the way.

"I had nicknamed it, 'Fill My Garage' and that's exactly what they did. They filled my garage," Sichko said.

Father Jim Sichko, who's on special assignment from Pope Francis to serve as a Papal Missionary of Mercy, took to social media and called on people to gather supplies and gift cards for residents in Estill and Lee counties.

"When the floodings happened, I felt that it was important and necessary to reach out. And so I just put a list together on social media and it kind of went crazy," Sichko said. "I had nicknamed it, 'Fill My Garage' and that's exactly what they did. They filled my garage."

Donations poured in from all across the United States, consisting of baby formula, non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies, clothes, water, and more.

"These are all people coming together, making time to make sure that this happens," Sichko added. "And that's the beauty, that's what humanity is about. I mean, all that you see here, the inside and what's going on in the truck is humanity. The really, the true aspect of what it means to be a human being."
