BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Western Kentucky University School of Sustainability's food pantry has been a popular spot since the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Graduate Assistant Cara Walters said that usage has gone up exponentially.

"This past semester we had over 250 people use the pantry and like I said that is a really large increase from past years," Walters said.

The pantry is open to all students, faculty, and even those around the community. Walters said it's grants that have kept the pantry going.

"We were lucky to get a very large grant earlier this year and it was very very helpful in funding our pantry," she said. "We were also able to get a grant through a student organization.”

The pantry is open everyday Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. CST. Anyone who wishes to take advantage of it only needs to make an appointment.
