LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Kingdom is implementing a new chaperone policy "to ensure Kentucky Kingdom continues to consistently provide the safe and wholesome experience that all guests expect," according to a release.

  • Kentucky Kingdom announces new chaperone policy

  • All guests age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone

  • The new policy goes into effect May 22

All guests age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone beginning Saturday, May 22, 2021. A chaperone is defined as a parent, guardian or other supervising adult age 21 and over with a valid ID, including a photograph and date of birth. The amusement park said each adult chaperone can accompany up to six guests age 15 and under, and they must be present at the time of entry and remain within the park for the entire duration of the party's visit. However, they don't need to accompany the entire party for the entire time.

Identification will be checked at the park entrance, and management and security will enforce the policy throughout the park.

Organized and ticketed group events like school, church, corporate, summer camp, sports and other pre-scheduled group visits are exempt from the policy since they have established chaperone policies and practices already in place.

“Kentucky Kingdom proudly welcomes all guests. As we work to thoughtfully implement this new policy we plan to work together with parents and other adults responsible for children to ensure that our park continues to provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for all,” said Kentucky Kingdom’s General Manager Craig Ross. “The safety of our guests and team members will always be our top priority, and we thank the park’s loyal supporters and the Louisville community for supporting and partnering with us in this effort.”
