  • The two groups picked up trash around the memorial and the highway in Lexington

Dewayne Yarbrough, veteran and founder of Dynamic Drone Solution, gathered with others at Veterans Park to show support this Memorial Day weekend.

“[We did this] to ensure that our memorial for our veterans is cleaned and motivated and shining to represent our commitment to just honoring those that lead the way in front of us and those that paved the way for those veterans that are in service now that have served and those who will serve,” Yarbrough said.

Veterans Park has memorials placed around the park in honor of soldiers and their families. Yarbrough said it was important to lead by example, and show respect to those who may be missing a loved one this year.

“Just like most of those other veterans that heard that call that others don't, they wanted to serve their country. I felt like that it's our obligation and duty for our two organizations dynamic drone solution and USA drone for it to lead by example to lead the way,” Yarbrough said.

Chris Stiles, a veteran himself and member of USA Drone Port, said Memorial Day hits home for him and his family, bringing back memories from when he spent time in the Army.

“I served in the Army from 2005 to 2009, multi-generational as well. My father actually was World War Two, which is also what this memorial is also about, so it's also remembered by him, and the generations that came before us and hopefully the generations that have come after me,” Stiles said.

Stiles said cleaning the memorial is showing just a small token of their appreciation for the families who may visit the memorial this weekend, to remember the soldiers that sacrificed their lives for our country.

“Cleaning the community everywhere is great, but obviously for us, you know, we want to make sure that it's clean around the memorial and that it shows a good face for it and people want to come and come over here and get good pictures and to, you know, hang around the memorial and to learn from it,” Stiles said.
