LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The gates are set for the 148th running of the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Oaks. Churchill Downs held the official post position draws on Monday afternoon.

  • Zandon is the morning line Derby favorite with 3/1 odds out of the No. 10 gate

  • Nest, who drew post position No. 4, is the morning line favorite with 5/2 odds in the Kentucky Oaks

Blue Grass Stakes winner Zandon is the morning line favorite for the Derby at 3-1. Chad Brown trains Zandon and he will be ridden by Flavien Prat, who was aboard Country House in the 2019 Derby. You'll remember Country House was named the winner when Maximum Security was disqualified.

From an intial field of 18, just 14 fillies can run in the Oaks. In Saturday's Kentucky Derby, 20 thoroughbreds will take their spots at the gates out of a field of 24.

Nest, the winner of the Ashland Stakes is the morning line favorite for the 148th running of the Kentucky Oaks at 5-2.  Nest is trained by veteran Todd Pletcher and Irad Ortiz Jr. will ride her on Friday.
