MILWAUKEE — One year ago, the threat of COVID-19 was creeping into the national consciousness.

The novel coronavirus, at first a seemingly distant danger, started hitting home for the Badger State in March 2020. Wisconsinites hunkered down, stocked up on toilet paper, hosted Zoom hangouts, maybe tried their hand at a nice sourdough.

Many probably wouldn’t have guessed they would still be wearing a mask (or two!) a full year later. With vaccines rolling out and case numbers dipping, the end of the pandemic may now be in sight — but here, we look back to remember all the historic events we’ve been through.
