MILWAUKEE -- This time of year is about more than cookies for Girl Scouts across the country.

Dreana, an 8th grade cadette in the Oak Creek Girl Scout's Council, said she's learned many life skills while selling cookies.

She's turned out to be quite the saleswoman. Last year, Dreana sold more than 2,300 boxes. That landed her in third place for her council. This year she's aiming for number one. She said her secret is that she gets out every single day and never gives up.

The Girl Scout's said selling cookies helps them to learn important soft skills, like meeting new people, but also, time and money management. The money earned goes toward camps and activities. Girl Scouts also do many community service projects.

One of the bestselling cookie boxes may not be a surprise to buyers. Dreana said it's often Thin Mints.
