This weekend, thousands of college athletes will hit the gridiron to kick off the new season of college football.

While touchdowns will be scored, until a recent National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) ruling, these young athletes weren’t able to profit from their name, image or likeness. 

But that may be changing.

Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter discussed state legislation sponsored by Sen. Kevin Parker that could change what it means to be a student athlete in college with Capital Region sports agent J.R. Rickert, a principal in the Niskayuna School District.
