Jeff Allen has been reporting for Spectrum News 13 since November 2012. He’s been making a difference in people’s lives by sharing inspiring stories of everyday people doing extraordinary things in the Central Florida community.

Jeff takes his responsibility as a journalist seriously and aims to offset the bad things happening in the world with good news as well. It's not only his mission to tell people’s stories, good or bad, but to give viewers something to remember.

Even though Jeff is a Kentucky native, he’d always wanted to get away from the cold and make his way down to the Sunshine State. He even worked for Disney through the Disney college program before breaking into news. Jeff has covered countless stories throughout his career, but the few that stick out to him as his most impactful are the trial against George Zimmerman, which caught national attention after the 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin, and his Emmy-nominated coverage of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

When Jeff isn’t chasing a story, you might find him going for a swim or relaxing on the sand. Jeff is a big sports fan and especially loves college basketball. His favorite outdoor area is New Smyrna Beach, and his best-kept secret of Central Florida? The Winter Park Boat Tour.
