ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye is sporting a new name: ICON Orlando.

  • Coca-Cola Orlando Eye changes name to ICON Orlando
  • I-Drive 360 also being rebranded as ICON Orlando 360
  • Wifi, private party capsules coming to observation wheel

I-Drive 360, the complex that houses the 400-foot observation wheel, will be renamed ICON Orlando 360.

The 18-acre complex features multiple attractions including SeaLife Aquarium, Madame Tussauds and the upcoming StarFlyer swing ride.

"Since opening three years ago, the observation wheel has become an instantly recognizable part of the Central Florida landscape and a catalyst for growth along the I-Drive corridor," said ICON Orlando spokeswoman Cindy Campbell-Taylor in a statement. "As such, the new ICON Orlando name makes perfect sense as we introduce some key changes and position this iconic structure for the future."

A new website, iconorlando.com, will go live on Monday.

The rebranding comes as IDL Parent, LLC shifts from development to management of the complex, according to a news release.

With the name change, the complex will be offering what it calls "ICONic" experiences. Among them are an annual pass that will give visitors unlimited entrance to ICON Orlando, capsules outfitted with wifi service, private party capsules for adults that includes a private bartender and a nightly light show.

Meanwhile, The Orlando StarFlyer attraction is set to open June 1 at nearby The Vue at 360.
