ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Walt Disney World is making changes to its popular Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

What You Need To Know

The event, which typically takes place in the fall, will begin on July 15 with some modifications when Epcot reopens next month.

It will be called "A Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival," Disney announced late Thursday. The event will continue through the fall and feature more than 20 global marketplaces like Hawaii and Hops & Barley.

The Eat to the Beat Concert Series will not be part of the modified festival, Disney said. In place of the concerts, live entertainment such as Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors will perform at America Gardens Theatre.

Disney's theme parks, which have been closed since mid-March because of the coronavirus, are set to reopen next month. Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom are scheduled to reopen on July 11 followed by Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios on July 15.

New health and safety measures will be in place when the theme parks reopen, including mandatory face masks, reduced capacity and social distancing protocols. Character meet-and-greets as well as parades and fireworks will be temporarily suspended.
