ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Cirque du Soleil, the Canada-based performance company, recently filed for bankruptcy protection, laying off thousands of employees.

In that announcement, however, Cirque said it was looking to soon productions in Las Vegas and Orlando before its other shows. Prior to suspending productions in March, Cirque was set to debut a new show at Disney Springs called “Drawn to Life” on April 17.

A new opening date for the show hasn’t been officially announced, however, tickets for Drawn to Life have been made available on the Cirque du Soleil website. The first available date for performances, according to the website’s calendar, is November 5. Again that date could change depending on local regulations and the ongoing pandemic.

Employees for Drawn to Life are being kept on temporary furlough to ensure a swift and efficient return for when show operations can resume, a Cirque du Soleil spokesperson said in an email Tuesday.

“Drawn to Life” is billed as a celebration of the art of animation, blending live performers with images and music from Disney’s animated films.
