ORLANDO, Fla. -- As changes continue to be made to Disney World's Jungle Cruise attraction, new characters have made their debut.

​Overnight, Walt Disney Imagineering added new characters to the attraction's rhino scene.

"We just wanted to POINT out the exciting progress Imagineering teams made last night on the #JungleCruise enhancements at @WaltDisneyWorld Resort!," read a post on Walt Disney Imagineering's Instagram account.

The new characters, which include a skipper named Felix Penchman XIII, are seen "trapped" up a tree during their safari.

The scene will also be added to Disneyland's Jungle Cruise when the attraction reopen July 16.

In January, Disney announced plans to update the attraction to make it more inclusive. The changes include revamping the storyline and removing outdated depictions of indigenous people. Even the popular Trader Sam's scene is getting a makeover. The character has been removed and in its place, a lost and found gift shop.

Although an exact date for completion of the changes hasn't been shared, Disney said all work should be finished by the summer.
