OVIEDO, Fla. – Scream n' Stream, the drive-thru haunt attraction, returns this September, bringing new scares to a new location.

The attraction, which debut at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures last year, will take over Oviedo Mall this time around, with activities taking place select nights Sept. 17 through Oct.31.

For this experience, visitors will drive through a new "terrifying" story crafted by Halloween Horror Nights veteran Patrick Braillard. During the 25-minute experience, visitors will drive through "Station 5," a secret research facility filled with clowns and zombies. But the experience will also have an interactive element. Passengers will be armed with laser guns to keep their driver safe from the creatures.

"Last year, because of COVID, it was necessary to keep guests at a safe distance from performers and a drive-through haunted house made sense," event coordinator Josh Gunderson said in a statement. "This year we wanted guests to feel like they are part of the action and being in their car is a necessity to the story and not just a byproduct of the pandemic."

In addition the the drive-thru haunt, visitors be able to enjoy other offerings in the mall, including an escape room at District Eat & Play or a specialty Zombie Juice from Calliope Street.

Organizers said changing the venue to the Oviedo Mall will let visitors get a complete Halloween experience.

With the pandemic still on-going, organizers said safety remains a priority. There will be sanitation measures in place for the laser guns as well as measures to keep contract workers socially-distant from visitors.

Tickets for Scream n’ Stream are now on sale and prices are per car, not per person. Visitors can save up to $20 by purchasing tickets online in advance. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Scream n' Stream is also hiring operations crew and performers for this year's event, with officials saying contractors can make as much as $15 an hour.
