ORLANDO, Fla. —  Some Disney World and Universal Orlando visitors experienced seizures and cardiac issues after riding attractions at the parks, according to a quarterly theme park injury report from the state.

The report, compiled by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, lists injuries and illnesses from the major theme parks between October and December. To remain exempt from state inspections, the parks self-report serious medical incidents that require hospitalization of at least 24 hours.

Disney World reported nine incidents, while Universal Orlando reported one.

At Magic Kingdom, a 39-year-old woman had a seizure after riding Splash Mountain on Oct. 9. A couple of days later, an 81-year-old man with a preexisting condition experienced “stroke like symptoms” after riding Pirates of the Caribbean. On Oct. 22, a 20-year-old female had a seizure after riding The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Several of the incidents included in the report occurred at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A 57-year-old woman had “cardiac symptoms” after leaving Expedition Everest on Oct. 12. The next day, an 82-year-old man passed out on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Two incidents were also listed for park’s Avatar Flight of Passage attraction. On Dec. 18, a 69-year-old man felt “unwell” after riding the attraction. Three days later, a 69-year-old woman felt “disoriented.”

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a 58-year-old woman felt dizzy and fell while leaving Toy Story Mania on Oct. 6. Later that month, an 18-year-old man passed out and fell after leaving Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.

Universal Orlando’s one reported incident occurred on Dec. 2. A 27-year-old woman had a seizure after riding Fast & Furious — Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida.

SeaWorld Orlando, Legoland Florida and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay did not report any incidents during the three-month time period.
