  • The new artwork shows plans for the World Celebration neighborhood

  • The area will feature gardens and also serve a festival hub with an outdoor plaza

The park is currently undergoing a transformation, the biggest in the resort’s history.

On Thursday, Disney released new concept art of the project, showing refreshed plans for the park’s World Celebration area and the upcoming Moana-inspired attraction.

World Celebration, one of the distinct neighborhoods that now make up Epcot, will feature different gardens as well as seating and shade. At the center of this garden area will be a planter inspired by the five-ring Epcot logo, which is visible in the new concept art.

The World Celebration neighborhood will also be the location of programming for various festivals held at the park throughout the year. A new CommuniCore Plaza will serve as an outdoor event space with a stage for concerts.

The new concept art also shows what the plaza area will look like at night with new lighting.

This area will also have CommuniCore Hall, a building that will be used as an exhibition and gallery space. Inside will be a demonstration kitchen as well as experiences that highlight art, live music and food.

The facility will also be the new location for the Mickey & Friends character meet and greets.

World Celebration will also be home to Dreamer’s Point, which will feature a statue of Walt Disney.

Other concept art released Thursday shows an aerial view of the Moana-inspired walkthrough attraction, Journey of Water.

Since announcing the project in 2019, Disney has already opened several attractions and experiences tied to the transformation.

Some of the new additions include Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion, the “Harmonious” nighttime spectacular at World Showcase lagoon, Connections Cafe & Eatery, and the park’s revamped plaza entrance.
