MELBOURNE, Fla. — A bicyclist in Melbourne was killed Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle, according to Melbourne Police.

The deadly crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Orange Street just before 1 p.m., police said in a news release.
When officers arrived, they found bicyclist Jason Lenard Vandyne, 27, with life-threatening injuries after being hit by the vehicle driven by a 74-year-old man.
Vandyne was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he died.
