The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has suspended its search at Wekiva River for a missing woman who was last seen a week before Christmas.

What You Need To Know

Paola Miranda Rosa, 31, was last seen by her family on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021. Rosa was reported missing by her sister on Dec. 19.

She was last seen before Christmas until a new video surfaced of the missing Osceola County woman.

On Dec. 20, after seeing news about her disappearance, hikers sent the sheriff’s office the video that appears to show Rosa swimming and wading into the Wekiva River at the Wekiwa Springs State Park on Dec. 18.

Her car was found at the park, too.

Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said they waited to release the video to the public out of respect to the family but have released it in the hopes others who were at the park that day can share their pictures and video as well.

On Wednesday night, investigators announced they would be canvassing the area, using underwater cameras to help search roughly 4.5 miles down the river on Thursday.

However, when he came out of the park at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Lopez said deputies had not found anything in their search, even with the use of marine deputies using an underwater drone to search.

He said he felt they'd done everything possible in the park and would not be returning there to search unless they got a new lead.

“We did walk off a little into the woods, and canvassed both sides, and used a drone, we just didn’t see any signs of anything, and we’re really comfortable to say that she’s not in that waterway,” Lopez said. “We’ve pretty much done everything humanly possible here … if she did get out of this car and someone has any knowledge of her whereabouts, that’s what we’re gonna rely on now.”

Last week, Spectrum News 13 spoke to her father, who is desperately trying to find his daughter.

Gustavo Miranda has been posting flyers, asking for help. She was last seen by family visiting her grandmother in Orlando. They have not given up hope of finding her.

“We’re not giving up hope we’ll see her again. We’re a family of faith and pray for her safe return," he said.
