As COVID-19 cases continue to spike here in the sunshine state and across the country, demand for testing is surging as well.

Testing sites across Central Florida have been plagued by long lines for weeks now as county and city leaders rush to open up more locations to meet the demand.

Barnett Park in Orlando often sees cars lined up for hours waiting their turn for a test. ​It's one of three public sites that Orange County has up and running for free drive-through COVID-19 testing, all of them extremely busy.

On Monday, the city of Orlando will open a new testing location at Camping World Stadium to help make it easier and faster for folks to get through the line, tested for COVID and on their way.

With at-home tests impossible to find and an hours-long wait at many public testing sites, people are paying $60 for a COVID-19 test at Orlando Pharmacy, the people coming through just hoping for an answer - positive or negative.

“A lot of the folks that are coming here are the ones that don’t want to wait in the two hour, three hours lines to go over and do the drive-through,” said Parker Baro, pharmacy technician at Orlando Pharmacy. 

Many of the people coming through Orlando Pharmacy for testing only have mild symptoms, according to Baro, like a sore throat or a little congestion, but their tests are coming back positive for COVID-19.

So - if you need to get tested, where can you go?

Camping World Stadium​ will be open for testing seven days a week from 9 in the morning until 5 p.m. They’ll have both rapid and PCR tests available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Orange County​ also has free testing open seven days a week at Barnett Park, Econ Soccer Complex and South Orange Youth Complex starting at 9 a.m. But, get in line early if you can and be prepared to wait.
