The man-made canyons aren’t something you’d normally see in Florida.

“It was last mined in 1929," manager and tour guide Austin Cutter said. "It used to be all flat land, but they were looking for limestone and they eventually stopped in 1929, but left this beautiful canyon for us to zip line through."

Guests can choose between several zip line courses that will take them all the way from 200 feet in the air to over 1,000 feet. There is even a course called speed trap that gets up to some riveting speeds.

“Some people might be nervous at first or even have a few reservations, but once they get to the first platform and meet their guides, check out the equipment — people get so much more comfortable and they have a great time," Cutter said. "It really is for everybody.”

Cutter said he still remembers the rush and adrenaline from the first time he went zipping through the trees, which led him to a career running the adventure spot.

“I grew up mostly out here in Florida and finished high school and I was looking for a job and I saw this place, and I figured that has to be a pretty cool job and now it’s grown into this,” Cutter said.

The park is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information on its adventure and zip line packages, visit https://zipthecanyons.com.
