ORLANDO, Fla. — There was lots of sunshine to start our work week as temperatures once again climbed well above the average for this time of year.

A southerly flow allowed our highs to reach into the low 80s. Moisture also started to return, allowing for a few afternoon clouds.

A mild and muggy night is in store with lows in the 60s. Patchy area of fog could drop visibility below a mile in spots for the Tuesday morning commute.

High pressure over the Atlantic continues sliding east, while a trough of low pressure shifting into the eastern third of the nation will shove a cold front toward the peninsula late Tuesday into Wednesday.

Ahead of it, we will see a mix of sun and clouds with temps back into the 80s. We may near record highs in some neighborhoods.

Isolated showers and storms pop by early afternoon but more widespread rain and rumbles hold off until after 7 or 8 p.m. as a line rolls in ahead of the cold front. A few storms may pack wind in excess of 50 mph as well as locally heavy rain.

The front brings an end to any showers before sunrise Wednesday, with increasing sunshine, breezy, and much cooler highs in the 60s. Lows dip into the 40s Thursday morning with daytime highs once again in the 60s.

Our weekend looks unsettled thanks to a disturbance coming out of the Gulf of Mexico.

Beach and Surf Conditions

Poor to fair surfing conditions for area surfers in the morning, but grab a board for a few decent waves in the afternoon. An east-southeast swell and wave heights running three to four feet could create some fun sets.

Keep an eye on the sky for potential storms popping up, although most of the rain will hold off until after dark.
