ORLANDO, Fla. — Brevard Public Schools and district offices will reopen Tuesday  and normal activities will resume after the warning for Tropical Storm Eta expired, district officials said.

Brevard County school district closed the schools Monday out of an abundance of caution. District officials said they would continue to monitor the storm through the end of the week. Forecasters are uncertain of its future path.

Even though Eta was expected to be on the Gulf Coast side of the state, the east side of Florida had been placed under a tropical storm warning up to the Brevard-Volusia border. Winds of up to 39 mph had been expected.

BPS was the only school district in the area so far to close schools.
