ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Final preparations underway as the new state and FEMA vaccination site on Avenue E in Rochester gets ready to open this week.
There's also a new link for vaccine appointments that goes live Monday for grocery workers.
The state expects about 1,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to be administered daily at the new site. A temporary structure has been put in place as the clinic gets ready for all of those appointments, which start Wednesday.
County officials say the site will be in operation for about 11 weeks with the first doses going to those who are eligible for the vaccine in under-served neighborhoods in the city of Rochester.
RTS buses will give free rides to the site. You can see the schedule for the route at myRTS.com.
People who live within the following 12 zip codes are currently eligible to sign up for an appointment:

People who live in those areas can check the state's "Am I Eligible?" website to find out whether appointments are still available.
Residents can also call 311 or register in person at several of Rochester's R-Centers and city library branches.
After the Avenue E site opens on Wednesday, all eligible residents across Monroe County can start making appointments.
Grocery workers can also start making appointments to get the vaccine starting Monday at noon on Monroe County's website.
Clinics will be held every Thursday at the Wegmans Conference Center off of Fisher Road, near the Rochester airport, specifically for grocery workers. People who work at independent grocery stores, convenience stores, and bodegas are also welcome.
The county says it expects 300 to 400 grocery workers will be vaccinated every week at those clinics.
