Two major school districts will start hiring laid off Rochester teachers.

Buffalo public schools will be holding interviews next week. Teachers who want to interview must apply online.

The district is looking to hire in art, elementary, foreign language, math, science and more.

Syracuse City Schools will also consider Rochester teachers who are let go as part of the district's deficit-reduction proposal.

Group interviews will be held on December 19. The Rochester Teachers Association will host the hiring event.

The district says there will be 15 to 20 positions open as soon as January and more than 100 open for fall 2020. They're hiring for positions in special education, math, science and elementary.

Teachers who want to interview must RSVP by Friday. They can email jobs@scsd.us with a resume.
