ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The civil rights attorney representing Daniel Prude's three daughters is also responding to the remarks by the suspended officers' legal teams Thursday morning.

In a statement Antonio Romanucci said in part:

"There is no way to ever excuse the officers' clear and excessive mistreatment of Mr. Prude, which the world has now seen on video. He was in the midst of a crisis, and even though he remained responsive...and was aware of his situation, the officers chose not to get him the medical help he needed, but rather to pin him to the ground and apply force that suffocated him and eventually led to his death."
