Former Aquinas High School quarterback Jake Zembiec was back in town recently, helping former Irish teammate Earnest Edwards prepare for upcoming workouts.

Zembiec is a senior at Penn State, and his football career cut short in 2018 because of a shoulder injury. He remained with the Nittany Lions on a medical scholarship which helped ease his transition from playing.

"I'm the happiest I've ever been. My last two years of college was awesome,” Zembiec said. “I didn't have to deal with any stress of injury and living up to expectations that became unrealistic when I was hurt. At the end of the day for me it comes to whether I'm happy or not. Although the NFL was a dream and making millions would have been awesome, if you're not happy doing it then there's no reason to be doing so I'm really happy."

After finishing up his studies at Penn State, Zembiec will attend grad school with plans for a career in Physical Therapy.
