Alex Stockwell is an award-winning anchor and reporter for Spectrum News. A lifelong Texan, Alex was born in San Antonio and raised in New Braunfels. Alex graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. 

Alex began her journalism career at the NBC affiliate station in McAllen, Texas where several of her stories covering the immigration crisis were picked up nationwide. From there, she returned home to Central Texas to join the Spectrum News 1 team as a multimedia journalist in Austin. As a reporter, she has covered several major events, including the 2018 Austin bombings, the ongoing Rodney Reed case, and SXSW. Alex started filling in as an anchor and anchored the weekend evening newscast before joining Your Morning on Spectrum News 1. Alex won a Lone Star Emmy Award along with her morning show team for their coverage of the 2021 Texas Winter Storm.

In her spare time, Alex loves traveling and exploring new places. She's a big Longhorn sports fan, which has its ups and downs, and cheers on the San Antonio Spurs. Alex and her husband welcomed a baby girl in July 2022.
