DILLEY, Texas — One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Dilley Friday.

According to police, at 12:50 a.m. an officer heard a firearm discharge at the City Park on Main Street. When officers approached the shooter and began talking with him, the shooter pulled out a modified 20-gauge shotgun he was concealing in his pants.

One of the officers fired one shot and killed the shooter. The officer was wearing a body camera, but the city does not have plans to release the video at this time.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting. The names of the deceased and the officer are not being released at this time.
