AUSTIN, Texas -- When it comes to Texas kids, child advocacy groups said the legislative session was a mixed bag.

Some of the successes they point to include money for free, full-day pre-K for eligible 4-year-old students and expanding mental health services.

But groups say lawmakers made little progress on child welfare issues and kids' health coverage.
