Born in Ft. Hood and raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Chris Grisby is proud to report in the state he grew up in. Today, Chris resides in Dallas and couldn’t be happier to return to the beautiful city he grew up in. A member of the Spectrum News team since June 2019, Chris finds his inspiration through the ability to see something new and interact with diverse groups of people, from different backgrounds, each day he does his job. This native Texan loves meeting new people, learning about them, and having conversations that can shed a new light on a person or issue.

Throughout Chris’s time reporting, he’s covered countless memorable stories, including Hurricane Irma and its aftermath in Southwest Florida. Witnessing firsthand the number of people impacted by the storm was shocking, especially in the aftermath of the Florida heat and humidity. Several people were left without A/C and basic needs for months. The resilience of the Southwest Florida community is something Chris describes as nothing short of an amazing experience to watch and cover.

During his time at The University of Tampa, Grisby was selected to participate in the NABJ-NAHJ student project at the joint conference in August 2016.

When Chris isn’t in the newsroom, you can find him exploring the Dallas area for the best BBQ joint - if you have any recommendations, let him know! Aside from that, Chris is as active as they come. He spends each morning in the gym and after work, makes sure to get outside and explore the various activities Dallas has to offer.
