TEXAS – Despite the fact that the presidential election has been called by major media organizations, President Donald Trump’s campaign is moving forward with legal challenges, and the president has the support of Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

What You Need To Know

  • Sen. Ted Cruz said he believes President Trump "still has a path to victory"

  • Cited a case in small Michigan county

  • Additionally said "case could very easily end up at the U.S. Supreme Court"

  • Claims of widespread voter fraud have not been substantiated

Appearing on Fox News on Sunday, Cruz said, "I believe President Trump still has a path to victory, and that path is to count every single legal vote that was cast, but also not to count any votes that were fraudulently cast or illegally cast, and we have a legal process to determine what's legal and what isn't."

During Sunday’s appearance, Cruz cited a small Michigan county in which it was reported that thousands of votes were counted in error for President-elect Joe Biden. Cruz said the same software used in Antrim County was “used in 47 counties throughout Michigan. That needs to be examined. It's hard to know what the facts are and hard to know what the truth is. This case could very easily end up at the U.S. Supreme Court."

In reference to the Supreme Court, Cruz brought up Bush v. Gore.

"I would expect a similar process to play out here, despite the media trying to tell everyone give up, go home, we know who we want to win,” Cruz said. “That's not how it works. We need to follow the law, and that means allowing the legal process to play out."

Claims of widespread voter fraud or irregularities have not been substantiated.
